Epsilon Indi A
Sun-like K-type star (~12 ly away in the constellation Indus); slightly cooler and smaller than the Sun. Host of the directly-imaged Jupiter analogue epsilon-indi-ab.
Why it matters
Epsilon Indi A is one of the closest Sun analogues with a confirmed Jupiter-class planet at a true Jupiter-like orbital separation, making the Ab system a benchmark target for direct-imaging studies of cold gas-giant atmospheres.
