Lana Sinapayen is a researcher at the earth-life-science-institute (ELSI), Institute of Science Tokyo. She co-developed (with harrison-b-smith) the agnostic population-statistics biosignature detection method, published April 2026. The method searches for life across exoplanet populations via statistical correlations arising from panspermia-driven spread and environmental modification, without requiring any specific biosignature chemistry. See src-panspermia-agnostic-biosignature-2026-04.

Key Quote

“Even if life elsewhere is fundamentally different from life on Earth, its large-scale effects may still leave detectable traces.”
