Project Blue is a seti-institute-associated proposal for a dedicated small space telescope to directly image planets around alpha-centauri A and B in visible light. The design target is a contrast ratio of approximately 10⁻¹⁰, sufficient to detect an Earth-analog in the habitable zone of a nearby Sun-like star.

If funded and built, Project Blue would provide a targeted follow-up path for the jwst gas-giant candidate at alpha-centauri-a (src-alpha-centauri-a-exoplanet-2026) and for any future rocky-planet candidates in the system.

Not to be confused with kona-blue (DHS UAP reverse-engineering program) or project-blue-book (USAF UFO investigation).
