Romania is a NATO ally on the alliance’s eastern flank. In April 2026 the Romanian Minister of National Defense and the U.S. Secretary of the Army signed an agreement enabling Romania to procure counter-uas capabilities through the jiatf-401-marketplace — making Romania the second named partner nation in the marketplace after the united-kingdom, and a step toward the Army secretary’s stated goal of 25 partner nations by end of summer 2026 (see src-jiatf-401-marketplace-romania-2026-04).
