Drone Dominance

“Drone dominance” is a named investment priority in the FY27 department-of-war budget request, alongside space superiority and increased magazine depth. Per Secretary of War Hegseth’s April 29, 2026 posture testimony to the house-armed-services-committee (src-hegseth-fy27-posture-testimony-2026-04), the FY27 $1.5T topline is positioned as a generational reindustrialization that “shifts the entire military acquisition paradigm” toward areas including drones and the next-generation F-47 fighter.

Relation to existing C-UAS / drone-incursion mission

Hegseth’s “drone dominance” framing is offensive (U.S. capability development) but pairs with the defensive posture documented in the drone-incursions and counter-uas threads — including the jiatf-401 >$600M C-UAS commitment, the flyaway-kit homeland mission, and operation-epic-fury CENTCOM C-UAS spending. It also overlaps with autonomous-warfare as a competitor-investment area.
