House Armed Services Committee (HASC)
U.S. House standing committee with jurisdiction over DoD authorization. Venue through which the COUNTER Act advanced into the 2026 NDAA, championed by member Rep. gabe-vasquez. H.R. 5060 (UAP Whistleblower Protection Act, Burchett/Luna, Aug 2025) was jointly referred here alongside House Oversight and HPSCI (src-uap-whistleblower-protection-act-2025-09).
FY27 Posture Hearing (April 29, 2026)
Received Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s FY27 written posture testimony — the first Secretary-of-War-level written-testimony affirmation of aaro as the U.S. government’s UAP “focal point” since the February 2026 uap-disclosure directive. The testimony also names “drone dominance” and “autonomous warfare” as FY27 priorities, identifies Golden Dome for America as the homeland aerial-threat-defense program, and announces the realignment of the anomalous-health-incidents CFT to OUSW(R&E) with ~$3M in HAVANA Act payments disbursed under Trump (src-hegseth-fy27-posture-testimony-2026-04). Chairman dan-caine appeared alongside Hegseth.
”Four Corners” precondition (December 2025)
Per src-uap-transparency-stalls-2025-12, HASC chair mike-rogers told Rep. eric-burlison the uap-disclosure-act could be folded into the FY2026 NDAA only with Four Corners sign-off — concurrence from chairs and ranking members of HASC, SASC, HPSCI, and SSCI. Liberation Times sources characterize this precondition as designed to fail; UAPDA was again excluded from the FY2026 cycle.
