Golden Dome for America

Golden Dome for America is the Trump administration’s named homeland aerial-threat-defense initiative, established by one of the President’s earliest executive orders. Per Secretary of War Hegseth’s FY27 posture testimony to the house-armed-services-committee (src-hegseth-fy27-posture-testimony-2026-04), it is framed as “a revolutionary approach to defending our nation from advanced aerial threats” and is the centerpiece of the “Defend the U.S. Homeland” line of effort.

Relevance to UAP / drone defense

Although Hegseth’s testimony does not name norad, usnorthcom, jiatf-401, or the FAK in connection with Golden Dome, the program is the closest organizational umbrella in the FY27 budget for the homeland counter-aerial-threat mission that has been driven, in practice, by the 2023–2026 drone-incursions over U.S. military bases and nuclear sites. It overlaps in scope with the counter-uas portfolio currently being scaled by jiatf-401.
