Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC)
U.S. Senate committee with jurisdiction over the Department of War (formerly DoD); the primary statutory vehicle for the annual NDAA and originating venue for the uap-disclosure-act under mike-rounds and chuck-schumer.
Held public AARO oversight hearings in 2023 and 2024 under Democratic control. Per src-uap-transparency-stalls-2025-12, SASC held no comparable public AARO hearing in 2025 after Republicans assumed the gavel. Concurrence from SASC chair and ranking member is one element of the “Four Corners” precondition imposed on UAPDA inclusion via the house-armed-services-committee (see four-corners-ndaa-process).
