Tim Burchett

Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) is one of the leading congressional champions of UAP transparency and disclosure legislation.

Role in UAP Disclosure

  • Co-drafted bipartisan, bicameral UAP legislation with anna-paulina-luna and Eric Burlison
  • Met with lue-elizondo and chris-mellon in closed-door Capitol Hill sessions (March 2025)
  • Has been a consistent advocate for UAP hearings and government accountability

H.R. 5060 — UAP Whistleblower Protection Act (August 2025)

Co-introduced with anna-paulina-luna the week of Aug 25, 2025; identical to a November 2024 version filed during the prior Congress. Would extend existing federal whistleblower-protection statutes to cover individuals reporting on the use of taxpayer funds to research or evaluate UAP material. Referred to House Oversight, Armed Services, and HPSCI (src-uap-whistleblower-protection-act-2025-09).

AARO Shutdown Bill (2026)

On April 6, 2026, Burchett introduced H.R. 8197 to terminate aaro within 60 days and legally prohibit creating any replacement centralized office (src-aaro-shutdown-bill-2026).

Significance

Along with anna-paulina-luna and Eric Burlison, Burchett forms the core trio of House Republicans driving UAP transparency legislation. Their sustained bipartisan efforts have been instrumental in securing UAP provisions in the FY2026 NDAA.

TPUSA Endorsement (April 2026)

After Trump’s turning-point-usa Phoenix tease, Burchett publicly thanked Trump on X — “Thank you for keeping your word to me @realDonaldTrump” — adding him to the chorus of GOP UAP-disclosure allies endorsing the rollout (src-trump-ufo-files-interesting-2026-04).

May 8, 2026 PURSUE Reaction

After department-of-war launched pursue at war.gov/UFO, Burchett thanked Trump for “keeping his word” and counseled patience: “Transparency won’t all happen at once, it will take some time” — framing the rollout as a multi-tranche project rather than a one-shot reveal (src-uap-files-public-conclusions-2026-05). Newsweek (src-newsweek-luna-teases-disclosure-2026-05) records a parallel “a great start” line and Burchett’s “they don’t give up that easy” assessment of cover-up culture (delivered on a joe-rogan episode that Rep. anna-paulina-luna explicitly directed her followers to ahead of the May 8 launch). The Fortune/AP wire (src-fortune-aldrin-apollo-11-uap-2026-05) corroborates the “keeping his word” line.
