Varginha Incident
Alleged January 20, 1996 incident in Varginha, Minas Gerais, brazil, during which the Brazilian military and civil authorities are said to have captured two non-human entities. Eyewitnesses include three young women who reported seeing a small humanoid creature in the city, and medical personnel who claimed to have examined captured entities. One of the foundational cases in modern Brazilian UAP lore.
The incident is the subject of james-fox’s 2022 documentary Moment of Contact.
30th-anniversary press conference (January 2026)
In January 2026, James Fox hosted a UAP (UFO) Press Conference marking the 30th anniversary. Rep. eric-burlison (R-MO) attended and used the platform to publicly call for passage of the uap-disclosure-act and standalone uap-whistleblower-protections, framing the legislative push as “marching orders.” Physician italo-venturelli gave first-person medical testimony of examining a “being not of this planet” on the day of the incident, describing a conscious, calm entity resembling a 7-year-old with a teardrop-shaped head.
