Venus Life Equation (VLE)

Framework introduced by noam-izenberg et al. (2021) for estimating the likelihood of extant life on venus, structured as:

L = O × R × C

where O = origination probability, R = robustness/persistence under Venusian conditions, and C = continuity (sustained habitability over time).

The VLE is explicitly modeled on the drake-equation and shares its profound parameter uncertainty. Per src-venus-panspermia-earth-origin-2026-04, a jhuapl/sandia-national-laboratories team applied the VLE in a 2026 LPSC paper combining bolide-fragmentation simulations to estimate Earth-to-Venus panspermia cell-transfer rates.
