HARPS (High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher) is a high-precision spectrograph installed on the ESO 3.6 m telescope at La Silla Observatory in Chile. HARPS pioneered the use of simultaneous Th-Ar reference spectra for sub-m/s radial-velocity measurements and has discovered or contributed to the confirmation of many nearby low-mass exoplanets.

HARPS was central to the original 2020 Science detection of gj-887 b and c and provided 101 additional measurements toward the 2026 confirmation of gj-887-d (src-gj-887-d-habitability-2026-03).
